Preschool Program
A safe, invigorating place to grow.
Philosophy
The Quadra Children's Centre is housed in log buildings, brightly lit by skylights designed to provide spacious, dynamic play centres inside and outside the building.
The Centre provides a place for children's natural sense of wonder to lead to discovery and creative magic. Our playground is located in a beautiful forest setting. The outdoor areas encourage adventurous play activities. The Centre's environment provides children with access to a wide choice of activities. Our teachers provide an exciting and engaging program that is based on the children's special interests. What do we do?
Living together: conflict resolution, caregiving and routines.
Co-operation, expression of feelings, conflict resolution, and all the daily tasks of living together are potential curriculum for young children. Physical care, self-help skills, eating, resting, washing, and dressing are the everyday life experiences that nurture the growth of young children. Care giving and the resolution of interpersonal issues are not interruptions, they are basic to the curriculum. In our Preschool Program 2 1/2 to 6 years- Children's natural tendencies for growth and expression are enhanced through play, art, stories, games, toys, and outdoor activities. Personal needs for rest and special dietary requirements are carefully monitored and respected. We gratefully acknowledge the childcare centres in Reggio Emilia, Italy for inspiring us in our work with children and their families.
