Quadra Children’s Centre, “situated in two beautiful wooden buildings surrounded by forest and farmland on Quadra Island, a large island on the northern tip of the Gulf of Georgia” (Fraser, 2000). Job Opportunities
We are currently seeking a Program Support Worker for our Quadra Kids School Age program (Ages 6 – 10 years old)
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Part Time: September thru June
Monday to Friday- 2:30 to 5:30 pm
Full Time: July and August (Monday to Friday)
Preferred: ECEA or a combination of relevant education and experience, valid BC Drivers Licence
Minimum: Responsible Adult certificate combined with other relevant education and experience
Wages TBD based on education and experience

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the constant supervision, safety, and well-being of the children
- Maintain accurate records, attend monthly staff meetings, develop rich and engaging program activities
- Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour guidance techniques
- Attends and participates actively in all program/centre, parental or other meetings as required
- Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre; maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers
- Shares responsibility for maintaining program equipment in good repair, keeping play environment and storage areas organized and clutter-free, assists with other housekeeping duties as needed.
- Bright, energetic, and flexible
- Ability to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds, understanding and valuing diversity
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem solving.
- Ability to plan and implement innovative programming
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to handle emergencies skillfully and calmly and in compliance with Child Care Regulations
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Current criminal record check
